The Board of the GAC has wide powers to initiate and carry out investigations regarding potential violations of the Competition Law and its implementing regulations. In recent years, the Board has used those powers to investigate practices in a number of industries, including the bottling and selling of beverages, producing cement, and making medical gases. In certain instances, such investigations have led to the GAC commencing proceedings before the Committee on Violations of the Competition Law.
