Dr. Yazid Almasoud has recently joined Zamakhchary & Co., after having worked for more than eight years as a consultant to several entities within the energy ecosystem in the KSA, during which he was tasked with a number of responsibilities, including providing consultations, advices and decision-making support to several supreme and ministerial committees in various legal matters related to regulating and organising the sector, and representing the government in a number of international forums, in addition to representing the Ministry of Energy in the Royal Court, permanent and joint committees, and boards.
The experience of Dr. Almasoud has extended for more than ten years, in both the public and private sectors, his professional experience has focused on leading regulatory, structural and legislative projects, supervising the preparation of documents related to local and international negotiations and agreements, and participating in representation and pleading before courts and judicial committees, in addition to participating in the membership of the founding committees of a number of state-owned companies, and supervising the preparation of incorporation documents and the issuance of the required legal instruments.
Dr. Almasoud graduated form Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University with a degree in Islamic Law. After that, he attended Lancaster University, which is ranked among the top 10 universities in the United Kingdom, and acquired an LLM degree in International Business and Corporate Law. In 2020, he was awarded a PhD degree in law by Lancaster University for a thesis on the regulatory framework of corporate restructuring in the UK and KSA. He furthermore passed several executive programs in leadership and business administration, most notably the Executive MBA Program from the London School of Economics and Political Science, and the Executive Leadership Program from Oxford University in the United Kingdom.
